Dear Colleague,

We launched the concept last year, on World Health Day, we gathered in Craiova the most important specialists from three medical specialties: Gastroenterology, Rheumatology and Dermatology. There were three days of intense work, with about 500 participants on site and over 1000 online participants.

This year's edition is scheduled on April 6-9, 2023 and is built around the specialties: gastroenterology, obstretics-gynecology, diabetes - nutrition diseases. We maintain on-site format at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova.

During the four days, this time, the scientific panels will bring together topics of major interest both for the doctors of the three specialties, to whom the 2023 edition of Craiova Connects is dedicated, and for the doctors from the related areas: internal medicine, ophthalmology, nephrology, cardiology, endocrinology, oncology, family medicine, nurses and not only, as can be seen from the preliminary scientific program.

The event will start with "Hands on training", on April 6, to support those interested in perfecting their skills in digestive endoscopy on animal model and fetal morphological ultrasound. Also, plenary meetings will be scheduled with the discussion of common topics gastroenterology, obstretics and gynecology, diabetes and nutrition diseases, as well as live broadcasts from the Gastroenterology Center, the Gynecology Simulation Center and the Diabetes and Nutrition Simulation Center.

A novelty this year is the creation of opportunities for our younger colleagues. Because we want the best ones to come with us in university research and we want to encourage and support them, we introduce in Craiova Connects two sessions that will take place in the form of competitions: one of the young specialists and the second of the residents. Both will bring prizes such as fully supporting the participation ofyoung researchers in international congresses, but also creating the opportunity to practice with a chosen specialist.

The Craiova Connects concept also follows the approach of some themes regarding: the hard thinking, the transition from the individual to collaboration, the improvement of communication in work teams, but also to the patient, the efficiency customized therapies following an appropriate case management. Therefore, a panel will be dedicated to the topics of medical and health communication, given that, by connecting several specialties, the event proposes to deepen the idea of teamwork, but also of the activities related to medical success, namely the diagnosis and multidisciplinary treatment of the patient. Communication trainers appreciated by the public, as well as results of research in the field of communication, interventions based on case studies and the latest theories in the field of communication, will be heard.
